Tourism Ireland shares “Best of Ireland” with 320+ Canadian travel advisors

Tourism Ireland is holding its annual Canadian sales mission this week, kicking off in London, ON, then heading out to Ottawa, ON, Montreal, QC, and Halifax, NS.

The event showcases the island of Ireland to travel agents across Eastern Canada and involves a delegation of 20 tourism enterprises from Ireland and three Canadian partners.

Each gathering aims to help advisors sell Ireland by targeting key consumer passion points of adventure and experiences, ‘craic’ and culture, history, and heritage as well as luxury travel via panel discussions by industry experts across the island of Ireland, with partners also connecting with top tier travel and lifestyle media and influencers at two of the events while in Ottawa and Montreal.

The focus is rebuilding tourism to the island of Ireland to 2019 levels and highlighting new and existing offerings.

Canada is the fifth strongest market for the island of Ireland in terms of holiday revenue, and the sales blitz provides a valuable opportunity to celebrate what’s new for 2023 for Canadian clients and encourage them to drive bookings for 2023/2024 and beyond.

“This week’s sales mission welcomes our largest ever delegation of Irish industry to Canada as we highlight the breadth and variety of reasons to visit Ireland in 2023,” said Sandra Moffatt, manager, Tourism Ireland, Canada. “The visit offers a strong opportunity for partners to connect with travel advisors selling the island of Ireland, encouraging them to expand their programming and ensure Ireland is top of mind when recommending destinations to clients.”

“Canadian holidaymakers are highly valued with 240,000 Canadian visitors delivering €209 million to the economy in 2019, and we look forward to re-building sustainable tourism growth from across the country this year.”
