Hangout Fest 2023: ‘Beach Vacation’ package deals on sale

The lineup for the 2023 Hangout Music Fest hasn’t been revealed just yet, but organizers are about to start offering vacation and ticket packages that let attendees square away their lodging and admission in one purchase.

The festival will take place May 19-21 in Gulf Shores. The new Hangout Beach Vacation Packages will go on sale Friday, Dec. 2, via www.hangoutmusicfest.com. Festival organizers say patrons will be able to pick from “a range of options at every price point.” Options will range from hotels such as Hampton Inn and Staybridge Suites up to “Hangout House” accommodations at the edge of the festival.

Based on price information given to AL.com, those price points range from $258 per person per night up to a top end of $1,025 per person per night. The bargain end includes four nights at the Sleep Inn & Suites in Foley with general admission tickets: $2,649 plus fees for a party or two ($331.13 per person per night), $4,129 plus fees for a party of four ($258.06 per).

The high end puts you in the “Hangout House” at the Phoenix All Suites, which is as close to the festival site as you can get without being inside it, and with Super VIP tickets to boot. That’s an eye-watering $13,759 plus fees for a party of four, or $859.94 per. For a party of two it’s $8,199 plus fees or $1.024.99 per.

Most of us can describe that as “aspirational,” and the fest certainly describes it in glowing terms.

“For those looking to flex, Hangout House has you covered,” said an announcement released Thursday. “Located at the Phoenix All Suites, Hangout House is right alongside the festival footprint so you aren’t missing a single minute of the Hangout experience. This includes majestic ocean views and a private festival entrance from Hangout House directly into the Surf Stage VIP with unlimited re-entry. Every suite at Hangout House also overlooks the Surf Stage where guests can catch the opening set from their balcony while enjoying a mimosa (or two) before hopping down to the festival. Hangout House packages will be available to purchase with either VIP or SUPER VIP tickets.”

VIP features include perks such as stageside VIP swimming pool access, priority festival entry, exclusive food and drink offerings, and more. Super VIP adds stageside hot tub access, golf cart concierge service between designated stages, gourmet meals prepared by award-winning chefs in an air-conditioned dining room and a premium open bar.

Overall, the concept behind the packages is that patrons “can spend less time searching for accommodations and more time dreaming of white sands, crystal clear water, and their favorite artists playing on the beach at sunset…It’s the kind of plug-and-play energy that beach vacations are made of. An on-site host will take care of all guest needs from check-in to check-out, and a daily cleaning service is on call throughout the four-day stay for many of the accommodation options.”

Until a general ticket on-sale date is announced, which presumably will coincide with a lineup announcement, the lodging packages are the only way to get tickets.

Tickets for the 2022 festival went on sale in early December last year, with a lineup topped by Post Malone, Tame Impala, Halsey, Doja Cat, Fall Out Boy and Megan Thee Stallion. Starting prices were $339 plus fees for three-day general admission passes, $509 for GA Plus, $1,219 for VIP and $1,839 for Super VIP.
